NASHVILLE, T.N. – A 29-year-old woman is facing serious criminal charges after crashing a stolen car into a parked pickup truck on Tuesday, killing its driver, News 4 Nashville reports.

Authorities say Brittnie Woodruff was driving a stolen vehicle when she crashed into a pickup truck parked at Tennessee Avenue near 51st Avenue North. The truck’s driver, 61-year-old Christopher Slaughter, was loading lawn-care equipment into a trailer at the time. He was pulled underneath his truck and died at the scene.

Woodruff then crashed into another vehicle and attempted to flee the scene before being stopped by bystanders. The truck Woodruff was driving was stolen from a nearby construction site.

The suspect is being charged with vehicle theft, vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of the crash, and driving without a license. She was also exhibiting signs of intoxication, and a blood test is being conducted.
