Crash alert: New laws provide funds for ambulance services

by Ponce Law | July 2nd, 2020

NASHVILLE, TN – Medical services in Tennessee, including ambulances, will receive continued financial support under new laws that took effect Wednesday, 1057 News reported.

Three bills passed by state lawmakers extend assessments that are used to draw federal matching funds, providing funding for hospitals, nursing homes and ambulance services.

One such measure is the Tennessee Hospital Assessment Act, which will raise a combination of state and federal funds totaling $1.7 billion for the TennCare program.  Without the assessment, lawmakers said a number of vital hospital and medical programs would be affected.
