“Nucor Steel Memphis, Inc. shows a continued dedication to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace,” said Steve Hawkins, Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administrator, who presented the SHARP award to the company on March 25. “We are pleased to honor this fine company for their notable safety record.” The SHARP award is designed for employers with fewer than 250 workers in high-hazard industrial classifications, and is considered one of Tennessee’s highest honors for workplace safety and health. In addition to rewarding employers who promote a safe and healthy workplace, the program also allows employers to be removed from programmed compliance inspection lists for a certain period of time.

My son was on a school bus… The school bus was hit… He was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt. A friend of mine, here in town, owns a hair salon. And she had recommended him. So I actually sent Mr. Ponce a message on Facebook. He said he would love to help! And you know, asked me for some more details. And I’ll give them to him. Some things were sent electronically. That I could just go online and do. And it would be done with! Even the times that I have come into the office. I’m not stuck sitting out in the waiting room forever. I’m brought straight back. And within a minute or two… We were already started!
The day of my accident, I was riding my scooter and then all sudden… The car just popped out of that other oncoming traffic.
