Crash alert: 4 hurt when truck collides with ambulance

FAIRFIELD GLADE, TN – A crash involving a truck and an ambulance in Cumberland County left four people hurt Tuesday. The Crossville Chronicle reported the incident happened at about 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of Peavine Road and Westminister Court in Fairfield Glade.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Stephen J. Atilano of Crossville was driving a Chevy S-10 in a construction zone when he slammed into the Chevy 3500 ambulance driven by 52-year-old Bobby F. Bowman of Crossville.

Bowman and a 51-year-old passenger in the ambulance were treated and released from a hospital. Atilano and a 12-year-old in his vehicle were also injured.

Bowman was expected to face several charges after being released from the hospital, including DUI and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
