Crash alert: Driver dies after tractor-trailer jackknifes on I-65

NASHVILLE, TN – A truck driver died after his tractor-trailer jackknifed on a highway in Nashville on Sunday evening.

According to WKRN, the incident happened at about 5:38 p.m. on Interstate 65 southbound near Wedgewood Avenue. Authorities said the driver had a medical emergency and lost control of the truck, which ended up crashing into a ditch.

The driver died later at an area hospital. His identity was not released.

Authorities said there was no fuel or hazardous material leaks from the truck stemming from the crash.

Southbound lanes of I-65 were closed following the incident, along with the eastbound ramp at the I-40 split at Exit 210.
