CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – An accident involving a freight truck on Interstate 40 shut down an exit ramp early Wednesday morning. 1057 News reported it happened sometime between 3 and 4 a.m. in western Cumberland County.
The truck, carrying general merchandise and pulling double trailers, overturned on the eastbound ramp of the Plateau Road exit at mile marker 311 and ended up on its side. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the driver escaped without injury.
The exit ramp was closed for several hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.
