CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – According to 1057 News, a sanitation truck driver was hurt when part of the vehicle hit a bridge in Cumberland County.
State troopers said 75-year-old Franklin Cordell Hensley was driving a Mack GU7 Friday afternoon when the lift of the truck struck the underneath portion of an overpass bridge on Interstate 40 over Highway 70 East. The lift had not been properly secured, authorities said.
Hensley, of Crossville, sustained minor injuries in the accident. The Tennessee Department of Transportation worked over the weekend to clean up the scene and make repairs. One eastbound lane on I-40 and Highway 70 under the bridge were shut down for the repair work.
