NASHVILLE, TN – Emergency responders were on the scene of a fatal tractor-trailer fire that caused traffic delays in Nashville Thursday, according to WKRN.
The incident happened north of downtown Nashville on Interstate 65 southbound at mile marker 85, near the split for I-24.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was reportedly ejected and the vehicle’s cab was engulfed by the flames. No further details regarding the fatality have been released yet.
Drivers in the area were advised to expect delays, with I-65 south not expected to reopen until 8 p.m. The Tennessee Department of Transportation says traffic was being diverted onto alternate routes.
