Crash alert: Woman fatally struck by USPS truck in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a United States Postal Service truck while walking in South Nashville early Thursday, according to a report by WKRN.

The victim has been identified by police as 35-year-old Joey Deliefde. The accident happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Harding Place and Antioch Place. A witness said Deliefde was hit after she walked into a lane of Harding Place to flag down a vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The roadway was reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. after being shut down following the incident.
