CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY – An accident Friday morning on Interstate 24 near the border of Tennessee and Kentucky left two people dead, Fox 17 reported.
The crash involving a Ryder box truck and a semi happened at about 8 a.m. in Christian County.
According to Kentucky State Police, the box truck was headed eastbound when it went off the road, crossed the median and entered the westbound lanes, where it slammed head-on into a semi towing a trailer.
The two vehicles caught fire and both drivers were killed, police said.
The accident affected traffic near the border, as I-24 eastbound was reduced to one lane, and traffic westbound was being diverted through the welcome center.
