NASHVILLE, TN – Emergency crews were able to clean up a fuel spill that closed off a stretch of a Nashville highway, according to a report by wsmv.com.
The fuel leaked out of a truck on I-40 westbound just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, the Tennessee Department of Transportation said. The incident caused parts of I-40 West to be blocked off.
A Hazmat team responded to the scene to clear the spill and I-40 West was reopened at Exit 210C.
The spill was apparently caused when the truck ran over a piece of metal that punctured the vehicle’s fuel tank.
