Road worker killed in Murfreesboro crash

MURFREESBORO, TN – A flagman was killed yesterday in a collision at a construction site on Butler Drive, WKRN reports.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, when a road grader that was backing up to allow a dump truck to spread gravel collided with the flagman, killing him.

The flagman has been identified as Nicholas Patrick Oliver, 21. He was working for Rollins Excavation, which had been contracted to perform shoulder work on the roadway.

Investigations are ongoing, although no charges are expected.
