Mrs. Laura Beth moved up from fourth grade to fifth grade this year. It was a stroke of genius that the school allowed that! As the class split into in-person and virtual, she already knew her students. Building on the skills she'd taught them the year before, she worked to include virtual students in the activities that in-person students were doing. They'd play review games through Google meet. They'd sit in while she read a group novel like Number the Stars. While this year has posed so many challenges for teachers juggling students at home and in the classroom, Mrs. Laura Beth has done so in a way that makes all students feel included (and a little more normal than you would expect during a pandemic!). Thank you!
