The Veteran I want to Honour is my 24 year old son, Sgt. Nicholas Thralls. In his personal life he has been married for almost three years and has a son. He is an awesome father who is a positive role model not only to his son but others. He is a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Hollow Rock, TN. He was a small child when September 11th occured. He came home from school and sat with tears in his eyes and couldn’t understand “why the bad men done that to so many people.” If I had to be honest a part of me knew that day he would choose to walk this path in life. While he was a junior in high school he began researching the Navy and Army but ultimately chose the Army. He completed OSUT and received his airborne paratrooper wings along with being an infantry soldier. He has been serving active duty for five years and plans to retire from the Army by making it his career. As his mother, I am so very proud of the man he has become while serving in the United States Army. Thank you for allowing me to Honour my son. God bless this Nation and God bless you.
