Elaf Mohammad

Elaf is a compassionate teacher who is dedicated to her students and the families she serves. She uses a holistic approach to engage her students at every level and recognizes how critical the middle school years are for her students as they build their educational foundation and their social skills. Elaf uses innovative approaches to keep the learning fun and to keep her students engaged. She is the type of teacher that 20 years from now students will look back and say she believed in me… She knew I could do it… She made me feel seen and heard. Elaf is excited to learn, a lifelong learner herself, and she finds ways to get the students excited as well. She is a team player and is committed to the success of her students, her colleagues, and her school. On Sunday nights when the rest of us begin to groan about the week ahead, she looks forward to each Monday as a new start, full of enthusiasm and filled with a joy for learning. When she finds out she's been nominated for this award, I anticipate she will be extremely humbled yet will immediately think of ways to put this award to good use for her classroom and for her school.
