Being the loved one of a teacher is an experience in and of itself. My proudest memory and moment is watching Katy walk across the stage when she was named Teacher of the Year. Katy won Teacher of the Year because of her passion, dedication, and love for every kid that crosses her path. Katy has a heart that won’t allow her to leave her work at school. If anyone thinks teachers have breaks in the summer and throughout the year, they’re wrong. One of the things I love most about her is the way she advocates and fights for her students to receive the best education they possibly can. Katy Hicock is special and I’m so proud of her.
