Local Law Enforcement Agencies Recognized for Efforts in Promoting Highway Safety

Law enforcement agencies across Tennessee work hard every day to keep our roads safe. That’s why the Nashville car accident lawyers at Ponce Law are excited to see different law enforcement groups from around the state rewarded for their efforts.

According to WATE 6 News, the Governor’s Highway Safety Office and the Department of Transportation recently recognized several law enforcement agencies as winners of the 11th Annual Law Enforcement Challenge. As part of the contest, agencies are judged on their efforts to educate the public about the dangers of speeding, driving while impaired, and vehicle safety. The Metro Nashville Police Department was the winner in the category with agencies that have than 1,000 officers. The Nashville District of the Tennessee Highway Patrol also took third place in their category. Winning agencies are said to combine training, education, and enforcement to make our state’s roads safer places to travel.

Agencies that qualified for consideration in the contest were also eligible to win fully equipped police vehicles for their jurisdiction. The winners were Madison and Hickman counties, along with the Sewanee Police Department.

While the team at Ponce Law would like to congratulate all participants and winners in this year’s challenge, we know that not all crashes can be prevented. That’s why motorists should be familiar with what to do after an auto accident. We hope this information helps keep you and your loved ones safe on the road!
