Roads in Tennessee can be hazardous for drivers and the workers who construct and maintain the highway infrastructure. That’s why the state is working to reduce Tennessee Car Accidents and improve highway safety with several programs.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is hoping to reduce speeding in construction zones as part of National Work Zone Awareness Week. Running until April 11, public service announcements will help explain the risks of speeding in work zones.
TDOT is also hoping to improve highway safety through a series of updates to the state’s Transportation Improvement Plan over the next three-years. Some of the changes include a $1.5 billion investment into 59 individual infrastructure projects spanning 41 counties. Repaving roads and bridges will be a part of many of the projects, as will improved access to several local communities from main throughways.
The Nashville Personal Injury Attorneys with Ponce Law applaud the actions being taken to improve highway safety in the state and are hopeful the programs are a success!
