Event Aims to Reduce Tennessee Drunk Driving Accidents on Super Bowl Sunday

The Super Bowl kicks off this Sunday. And while the event can be a great time to come together and celebrate with friends, it can also lead to drunk driving. Officials from the state’s Department of Transportation (TNDOT) point out the chances of being involved in a Tennessee drunk driving accident increase tremendously on Super Bowl Sunday.

To help combat this problem, the Tennessee Titans are partnering with TNDOT, the Franklin Police Department, the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol to raise public awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. Reports from The Leaf-Chronicle explain the campaign will kick off today at the Franklin Police Department headquarters.

During the event, a family who lost a loved one to a drunk driver on Super Bowl Sunday will discuss how the event affected them. The motorcycle their loved one was riding at the time of the accident will also be on public display during the event as a reminder of how a life can change in a split second as the result of drunk driving.

The Nashville personal injury attorneys with Ponce Law understand the risks drunk driving can pose. That’s why we ask that you choose not to drink and drive this weekend. Instead, choose a designated driver or plan a safe ride home. We hope these tips help you to have a safe and sober Super Bowl!
