She was placed into a medically-induced coma following the accident, resulting in huge medical bills.
The victim filed a lawsuit against ARC Automotive, claiming they were responsible for here injuries. Both parties reached a settlement in the matter for an undisclosed amount in damages.
As many as 500,000 vehicles could be affected by the faulty parts. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is continuing to work towards determining the full scope of the problem.
