Nashville Car Accident Lawyers Talk Traffic Safety For Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend has officially kicked off in Tennessee and officials are expecting it to be an extremely busy weekend for travelers. Estimates show that as many as 755,000 Tennesseans will be traveling more than 50 miles from home over the extended weekend. With so many motorists on the road, our Nashville car accident lawyers at Ponce Law would like to remind the public to keep safety in mind at all times when on the road.

Drivers should remember to obey the law at all times when operating a motor vehicle. This means adhering to the speed limit, refraining from texting or using electronic devices while driving, and by all means, not drinking and driving. For those who fail to adhere to the rules of the road, law enforcement plans to be out in full force this weekend.

According to an article from The Jackson Sun, the Tennessee Highway Patrol will begin increased patrols throughout the state beginning Friday, May 22, at 12:01 A.M. and continuing until Monday, May 25. This will also be a “No Refusal” weekend, meaning officers and troopers will have judges on hand to sign warrants in order to receive breath and blood samples from potentially intoxicated motorists.

At Ponce Law, we recognize the hazards increased traffic volumes can pose to motorists on the highway and our Nashville personal injury lawyers urge all motorists to slow down, buckle up, and drive defensively this Memorial Day weekend.
