Takata Airbags Cause Fatal Accidents

Vehicle recalls happen all the time with most major car manufacturers. If you’ve owned a vehicle in the last 20 years, chances are your car has had at least one recall issued, if not several. These recalls involve replacing potentially dangerous components that weren’t discovered until after the manufacturing process.

In recent years, we’ve seen the largest recall in automotive history—possibly the most dangerous—and it’s still going on. Vehicles built between 2002-2015 containing Takata airbags have been recalled due to the risk of these airbags exploding upon inflation, injuring and even killing drivers and passengers. Fourteen different vehicle manufacturers are involved in the recall, representing hundreds of thousands of vehicles. In June, federal safety regulators warned that certain Honda and Acura vehicles carried a 50% chance “of a dangerous airbag inflater rupture in a crash.”

The defective product attorneys at Ponce Law encourage you to visit www.safercar.gov immediately to determine whether or not your vehicle has been recalled. And if you or someone you loved was injured by a defective Takata airbag deployment, you may be entitled to significant compensation from the manufacturer. Call our experienced product liability attorneys today for a free consultation. We’ll hold the manufacturer accountable for the injuries you’ve sustained and fight to get you maximum compensation.
