Pedestrian Struck by Motorist in Tennessee Accident

The TN pedestrian accident took place around 4:10 pm on August 2, during the afternoon rush hour as motorists were returning home from work. According to officers with the Corbin Police Department, Brooke Mitchell of Corbin was driving her Infinity four-door sedan on Master Street, heading towards downtown, when Dugger stepped out in front of her vehicle. Mitchell told police that she slammed on the brakes before striking Dugger, but Dugger was hit, rolled up onto the hood and then fell in front of the Infinity. Dugger told the investigating officer, Lt. Glenn Taylor, that she didn’t see Mitchell’s car when she stepped out into the road. Far too often, serious and even fatal pedestrian accidents take place in Tennessee and throughout the country because motorists fail to keep a lookout for pedestrians on the roadway.
