Investigating Cause of Work Site Accident

Following the devastating Tennessee electrical accident, which occurred at a construction site off Neyland Drive and along Fort Loudoun Lake around 12:15 pm, industrial investigators were trying to determine how the worker sustained a severe shock while working at the construction site. In a written statement to the injured worker and his family, employer W&O Construction Co. Inc. wrote, “KUB employees send their thoughts and prayers to the W&O employee and his family. KUB will work with the contractor to conduct a thorough review of the accident and will cooperate with authorities in any other inquiries.”

Risk of Construction Site Injuries and Fatalities

Due to the inherently hazardous nature of the construction industry, construction workers face a risk of fatal workplace accidents – including electrical accidents, falls, crane accidents and more – on a daily basis. Because of these risks, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has established specific guidelines for making construction sites a safe place for workers to carry out their duties. However, when an employer or supervisor fails to take the proper precautions to protect the safety of construction workers, the consequences can be deadly.
