Already facing up to $18 billion in fines from the EPA, Volkswagen is now the subject of a U.S. Department of Justice criminal investigation. Volkswagen’s CEO, Martin Winterkorn, resigned less than one week after the EPA announced VW’s Clean Air Act violations.
