The Nashville Truck Accident Lawyers with Ponce Law explain that commercial transportation companies have a responsibility to ensure the safety of the vehicles the operate. Failure to do so can result in accidents resulting in injury claims against the company.

Two cases have recently been filed against separate Tennessee trucking companies. According to an article from The Tennessean, a 65-year-old man and 53-year-old woman are each facing multiple charges in connection with fraudulent attempts to cover up their use of unsafe and poorly maintained vehicles for the profit of their companies.

Reports indicate that in June of last year, the male suspect was ordered to halt the operations of his commercial trucks after he was cited for failing to ensure vehicle safety and the qualifications of his drivers. The orders also cited accidents on Interstate 24 and Interstate 40 that resulted in the deaths of several horses. However, the man is accused of continuing to operate his trucks under the name of another business owned by the woman who is accused.

Both will face extended sentences for their crimes if they are convicted.

Michael D. Ponce & Associates’ team of Nashville Personal Injury Lawyers recognizes the dangers negligent trucking companies and their vehicles can pose on the road. The firm is here to help anyone who has been harmed as the result of an equipment failure or a truck driver’s negligence.
